Echo Valley Bluegrass

 It is with a heavy heart that we

 inform you of the passing of our

 mandolin player, Jim Cornell.

 He departed this earth on Sept

 24th, 2009, after a courageous,

 hard fought battle with cancer.

 He was deeply loved and will be

 missed by his family and many

 friends.  Go rest high on that

 mountain Jim...I am proud to call

 you my friend....

 

Echo Valley  has been pleasing

bluegrass music fans throughout

the midwest since1983.  The band is

well versed in traditional bluegrass

 and gospel music and has an

extensive repertoire of original

songs and classic bluegrass. 

 Echo Valley's music can be found

on several CDs and cassettes.

 

Lead singer and guitarist

Donnie Voiles has written many 

 

 

 original songs and continues to

write new songs for the band.

 

Banjoist Jack Chaffins sings

baritone, and has a hard driving

right hand that shows influence

from JD Crowe and the great Earl

 Scruggs.

 

Tracey Reliford provides solid

rhythm on bass and sings tenor and

lead.

Jim Cornell, the newest member,

plays mandolin and is a multi-

talented musician also singing

baritone and bass.

 

Original material, strong vocals,

 musicianship, and great stage

presence makes Echo Valley one of

Indiana's finest bluegrass groups.
